The World is full of amazing cities to eat and the list is endless. From every city, small town and village to your own home, it can be foodie heaven. But here are a few top foodie cities to visit for amazing eats, great sights and good foodie fun.
1. New York City - simple the best city in the World for food. Its home to people from every corner of the Globe and offers cuisine from nearly every country on the planet. Be sure to have dim sum in Chinatown, in one of the many large restaurants that serve up to 1000 people. Brooklyn is home to wonderful Middle Eastern food, Harlem African-American, Lexington Avenue Indian, and the list goes on. Whether you want to eat fresh cupcakes or French pastries to local brew pubs, local neighborhood cafes to upscale restaurants served by some of the Worlds greatest chefs, NYC has it all.
2. London - this city is full of diversity. While sitting on the tube you will hear languages from around the globe and each area of the city offers flavors from every corner of the World. Be sure to visit Covent Garden home of some of the best organic vegetarian restaurants, gourmet noodle houses, and Belgian bars. Sit back relax and enjoy the fun street entertainment along the way. Indian restaurants abound will light up your taste buds, along with British pubs and tea rooms. This city is true foodie heaven and you can find a place to meet any craving.
3. Paris - home to the Worlds best French cuisine and top chefs. The French love food and take the experience seriously. Their passion for good food is addictive and will change you forever. Be sure to sit back and watch the world go by in one of the cities many pastry shops where you can nibble on goodies and fresh bread and soak in the city of lights. You will also find wonderful neighborhood bistros and upscale restaurants to delight your taste buds. Paris is a must for any foodie.
4. Kyoto - this Japanese city is steeped in history built along an ancient river, you can sit on the floor and enjoy fresh to order authentic Japanese fare with sake is an experience not to be missed.
5. Nice - this Southern French city is Famous for Nicoise food and it maintains its own food traditions and even has an organization to preserve it. The food is French with a Mediterranean flare, complete with homemade pastas, fresh seafood and herbs. The setting is beautiful and after a meal be sure to take a stroll along the bay.
6. Chennai - this Southern Indian city is the Mecca for Tamil food. In fact, you will find wonderful idly, dosa, and curries cuisine from all over India. From small family style restaurants often eating a traditional banana leaf to high end 5 star restaurants. Indians love food, and most conversations revolve around meals!
7. Miami - the city boasts some of the best South American, Cuban and International food in the United States. With its large South American and Cuban community you will be treated to authentic regional food. Don't miss going to little Havana for first class Cuban food and coffee, and a wonderful meal on Ocean Boulevard, and watch the sunset on South Beach.
8. Rome - the Italian capital really delivers when it comes to wonderful Italian food where you will find one of a kind neighborhood restaurants tucked away along little cobbled streets where you can enjoy fresh homemade pasta and pizzas to die for. Also be sure to frequent one of the cities gelaterias where you will often see the locals enjoying a gelato throughout their day.
9. Barcelona - the Southern Spanish city is home to fabulous tapas bars, packed with people, laughter, great little portions of Spanish fare and you can also find upscale 3 course lunch menus in lavish restaurants.
10. Vancouver - this Western Canadian city has a great selection of places to eat from Korean to Thai and other Asian foods and fantastic small markets. It is also home to wonderful fresh seafood.
