What's Cooking with Doc



A One Year Anniversary Thanks!

It is with great pleasure that I get to write about Doc’s own anniversary of sorts in this month’s Basil 1 year Anniversary Issue. It was almost exactly 1 year ago that we launched our first TV show, What’s Cookin’ with Doc? That program aired on a local cable access channel. We filmed on Mondays at a local Italian restaurant and pizzeria since that was the day they were closed. I and two other guys did the whole program; no scripts, direction or (obviously) control. It was fun in a raw, garage band Wayne’s World (the original skit, not the movies) kind of way. As I look back over the time between then and now I see the fruit from the seeds that program sowed. We’ve had the pleasure to be involved with Basil-what an AWESOME magazine- helping with Basil MAGAZINE radio, writing the monthly column and being part of the Chef’s Council. We can’t give away too much, but stay tuned as this great magazine grows, expands and blossoms over the next year. We also have a book we are in the midst of publishing, international speaking opportunities on food and health, a completed on-line instructional video series (free at the website) called Code Delicious and a whole new program; House Calls. 
We are very excited about our new program, bringing together everyday people, health issues and of course grassroots gourmet cooking! While the exact distribution and airing details are not quite yet finalized, we will make every effort to insure it reaches as many of you as possible, It should be a lot of fun as we will do this with a live audience, on our own set and finally in our own kitchen! We will update you on the blog as to how, when and where to view the show. I hope you will watch and give us feedback at the website, or drop us a line here at Basil. We always look forward to whatever you have to say. We’re sharing the first show’s recipe with you this month, I hope you enjoy.
